Why do we design and manufacture 19” enclosures the way we do? The answer is simple: to make it easier and more cost effective for you to specify customised cases.

Customising a standard 19” rack case will always be quicker, easier and cheaper than designing a bespoke enclosure from the ground up. There’s only one thing better: being able to get the unusual specifications you need as standard…in stock, off the shelf, ready to ship.

So we look for trends in customisation. We take note when different customers specify similar custom features. Then we make the most popular bespoke specifications available as a standard option.

And that’s precisely what has just happened with COMBIMET, our bestselling range of 19” rack mount enclosures. We’ve just launched a new 24” (610 mm) extra deep version for server racks after a custom specification in the USA proved to be highly popular. New COMBIMET 24” offers massive amounts of space compared with the existing 265 mm and 365 mm depths (spacious though they are).

Specifications Of New COMBIMET 19” x 24” Rack Cases

We haven’t skimped on choice. We didn’t simply dip a toe in the water when we launched the new 24” deep COMBIMET. It comes in all the sizes and configurations of its 265 mm and 365 mm predecessors. That means sizes 1U, 2U, 3U, 4U, 5U and 6U are available as standard.

It also means the widest choice of ventilation and access options of any range of METCASE 19” rack mount enclosures:

  • ventilated or unventilated top (1U-6U), ventilated or unventilated base (1U to 6U), open top (2U and 3U)
  • removable top, base and rear panels for swift and easy access to all your electronics.

COMBIMET features distinct front panel handles – making it easy to pull them from racks for maintenance. These extruded aluminium handles are so popular that we supply them as an accessory that can be retrofitted to any 19” rack case.

Every COMBIMET has mounting holes in the base for PCBs and chassis – plus M4 threaded earth studs on all components to ensure electrical continuity. Cases are supplied fully assembled in two standard colours (light grey, RAL 7035 or black, RAL 9005) or in any custom colour you specify. View our list of custom colours that are always in stock.
